I just want to say this to people on both sides of the zoo debate issue: It's a good debate to have. Are zoos merely a stationary circus--or are they (as I believe they must be) the equivalent of Noah's Ark, as poaching, agricultural deforestation, and climate change push endangered species out of their habitats and onto the extinct list? Ultimately, we humans will have to decide. It's good to do that with eyes wide open as to the practices of the people to whom we entrust the care of these animals.
