The driver lost control on Highway 20E east of Bend.
Oregon State Police is continuing the investigation into the cause of Sunday afternoon's fatal commercial truck crash that occurred along Highway 20E east of Bend in Deschutes County. The victim's name will be released Monday.
According to Sergeant Keith Taylor, a 1998 Freightliner truck pulling two trailers driven by an adult male was westbound on Highway 20E near milepost 21 when, for an undetermined reason, the driver lost control. The truck and first trailer rolled onto their top and came to rest off the highway and the second trailer came to rest blocking the westbound lane.
The truck's driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was using safety restraints.
The trailers were loaded with recycled vehicle parts which spilled off the trailers. The truck is registered to Wurdinger Recycling Inc.
