Detectives suspected Steven Rockett for 14 years, but never had the evidence to arrest him.
Washington County Child Abuse Detectives are searching for additional victims following the arrest of a Forest Grove man.
Detectives believe that Steven Douglas Rockett, 44, of Forest Grove, has engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with numerous underage victims for many years. Detectives have investigated Rockett on numerous occasions over the last 14 years but were unable to gain sufficient evidence to charge him with any crimes.
Washington County Sheriff's Detectives received information that Rockett had recently engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with three underage females. It was also reported that he solicited nude photographs from at least one of the girls. The Child Abuse Detectives were able to gain enough information and evidence from the recent reported activity to arrest Rockett on August 23, 2013. Forest Grove Detectives assisted with serving a search warrant at Rockett's Forest Grove residence.
The Washington County Child Abuse Detectives believe there are additional victims of unreported crimes committed by Rockett. Because Rockett traveled extensively, including internationally, these additional crimes could be anywhere. The recent crimes that he was arrested for occurred in Aloha.
Rockett is lodged in the Washington County Jail, he is charged with Second Degree Rape, First Degree Sodomy, and First Degree Sex Abuse. He is currently held on $500,000 bail.
