63-year-old Ladell Hill is accused of sexually assaulting two homeless women.
A 22-year-old homeless woman reportedly locked herself in a Portland Loo after being sexually assaulted by a homeless man in downtown Portland. Police went to her aid around 6 a.m. Friday.
She pointed investigators to 63-year-old Ladell Hill who has been arrested on rape and sodomy charges. He will be arraigned on Monday.
During the investigation, they identified another possible victim - a 27-year-old homeless woman - who was attacked three weeks ago near W. Sixth and Burnside. Officers believe there may be other victims.
"With this case, it's a success in the sense we've made an arrest and helped two victims bring their attacker to justice but we are concerned there could be more out there and we would like to hear from anyone who has information," said Sgt. Pete Simpson, bureau spokesman.
Simpson said the homeless population can be hard to reach and some victims may be afraid to come forward due to fear of retaliation by the suspect's friends.
