A woman was assaulted by a man in the Eliot neighborhood who acted as if he had a gun.
Crimestoppers is now offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in a north Portland assault.
On Tuesday March 26, 2013 at approximately 12:10 a.m., the victim, a 52-year-old woman, was walking on the North sidewalk of North Larabee Street approaching North Interstate Avenue, when the suspect approached her and asked for money and food. The suspect pushed the woman down, threatened to sexually assault her, and punched her in the face. According to the victim, the suspect acted as if he had gun in his pocket.
The woman defended herself and the man ran away in an unknown direction. The victim was treated and released at a Portland hospital.
The suspect is described as a male, Hispanic or Pacific Islander, in this 30s, about 5'5" tall and approximately 170-180 pounds. The suspect had short brown hair and brown eyes and was wearing a white sweatshirt and black pants. The suspect is balding or has a shaved head in the back with a unique quarter inch strap of hair behind his ears pulled into a 4" to 5" braid with curled hair on the bottom.
Two forensic sketches of the suspect have been released to assist the public in helping solve this case.
