State in-home care guidance program helps seniors, people with disabilities.

More seniors and people with disabilities are taking advantage of a federally-backed state program designed to connect them with in-home care services. Oregon's Aging and Disability Resource Connection reports Oregonians called their toll-free hotline nearly 50,000 times and searched the website over 91,000 times.

Elaine Young with ADRC said improving access to information on in-home care improves care and reduces costs to patients and the government.

She said the program recently received a grant to expand and extend the services for three more years.

The phone number is 1-855-ORE-ADRC (1-855-673-2372).
