No students were on the bus that was hit head on by a car.

Two people were injured, one seriously, in an ice related collision involving a school bus and a car Thursday morning near Molalla.

According to Oregon State Police Sr. Trooper Dan Swift, a 2001 Volkswagen Passat was westbound on SR 211 west of Vaughan Road about 6:30 a.m. when it encountered some black ice and slid into the on coming traffic lane.

The Volkswagen collided with a full sized school bus being operated by First Students under contract with the Molalla School District. The school bus had just started it's route and there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the collision.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 19 year old woman from Oregon City, was transported by Life Flight helicopter to Emmanuel Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the school bus was taken by car to Wilamette Falls hospital where she was treated and released.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and the airbags on the Volkswagen deployed.

Road conditions throughout south Clackamas County were very slick due to icy conditions. No citations were issued. OSP was assisted at the scene by Mollala Fire, Molalla Police, Clackamas County Sheriff, and ODOT.
