Rodney Jones was already in jail for being a Felon in Possession of a firearm.

Last week, a Multnomah County Grand Jury indicted a Southeast Portland man on murder charges in connection with the October 15, 2012 death of 42-year-old Durell Gee Davis.

Portland Police Homicide detectives arrested 35-year-old Rodney Lamont Jones on January 24, 2013 on a charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Today, Wednesday February 20, 2013, Jones was arraigned on charges of Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm (2 counts).

The investigation began on Monday October 15, 2012, at 7:52 p.m., when Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to the report of a shooting at Northeast 92nd Place and Glisan Street.

Officers arrived and located 42-year-old Durell Gee Davis deceased on 92nd Place, just south of Glisan Street. The Oregon State Medical Examiner performed an autopsy and determined that Davis died of a gunshot wound.

Homicide detectives developed information learned in the investigation that resulted in this grand jury indictment.
