Ronald Jacko turned himself in to police on Thursday.
Officers from the Portland Police Bureau's Traffic Division arrested 28-year-old Ronald Jacko of Tigard in connection with the hit and run crash that injured pedestrian in December 2012.
This investigation started on December 13 at 10:30 p.m., when police were called to the scene of a hit and run to a pedestrian at North Vancouver Avenue and Weidler Street.
The victim, 32-year-old Ryan Hendryx, was crossing North Vancouver Avenue after leaving a Trailblazer's basketball game when he was struck and seriously injured by a 2007 Chrysler 300. The vehicle never stopped at the scene and fled the area. The victim was hit hard enough to go up onto the hood and shatter the windshield of the car.
Officers at the Traffic Division began following-up the initial report and ultimately located and seized the vehicle, which had already received a new windshield.
Thursday, the suspect turned himself in to officers at Central Precinct and he was booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
Jacko was charged with Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Felony Hit and Run) and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Jacko will be arraigned on Friday in Multnomah County Court.
