Is Oregon's only national park threatened?

The group "Environment Oregon" is looking for  support to lean on U.S. Senator Ron Wyden.  They say Crater Lake National Park could be in trouble.

Environment Oregon is putting signatures on petitions to stop "a really bad logging proposal called the Bybee Timber Sale right on the edge of Crater Lake National Park which effectively clear cuts old growth forest."

Charlie Fisher is with Environment Oregon.  "The headwaters of the Rogue River are in that area so it would affect that as well."

He is appealing the logging plan to Senator Wyden, chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee.  "We really think the best way to permanently prevent this from happening is by designating the entire area as federal wilderness."

Petitions opposing the plan need to be in D.C. by February 28th.
