A Washington County deputy was wounded in a shooting involving an off-duty Hillsboro Police officers.
On January 20, 2013, at about 8:30 pm, Forest Grove Police Officers along with Washington County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of 37th Avenue in the City of Forest Grove.
The disturbance was between 46-year-old Timothy Cannon, an off-duty Hillsboro Police Officer, and his wife. Once Officers were on scene they attempted a dialogue with Cannon. At some point during the incident the officers entered the home. Shots were fired inside the home and one of the Sheriff's deputies sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Cannon was taken into custody and sustained non-life-threatening injures during the incident. Both Cannon and the Sheriff's deputy were later treated and released at a local hospital. Cannon's wife and their six-year-old daughter were not harmed during the incident. Some of the surrounding neighbors were evacuated during the incident. They have since returned to their homes.
Cannon was arrested and booked on multiple charges. He has been lodged at the Washington County Jail.
