The truck's driver and passenger were injured.
Interstate 84 westbound lanes between Rufus and Biggs Junction were closed Thursday morning following an injury traffic crash involving a commercial truck and semi-trailer that came to rest across the traffic lanes and on top of the center concrete median barrier. Two people were transported with non-life threatening injuries.
Oregon State Police report that at approximately 4:45 a.m. Thursday a commercial truck pulling a semi-trailer loaded with general merchandise items was traveling westbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 107 when it driver lost control. The truck and trailer came to rest rolled on their sides blocking the westbound lanes with the rear portion of the trailer on top of the concrete center median barrier sticking into the left eastbound lane.
The truck's two occupants were transported by ambulance to Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles. Their names will be released later today.
Three tow trucks were used to remove the truck and semi-trailer.
A detour for westbound traffic was set up at Exit 109 (Rufus) onto Old Highway 30.
