Improper display of the receipt will cost you $39 and the rates go up from there.
Effective on February 7, 2013, the Circuit Court will implement increases in bail amounts for seven parking violations related to meter receipts, front and rear license plates, area parking permits, and carpool and truck loading zones. These changes reflect the Circuit Court’s collaboration with the City of Portland to ensure that the bail schedule for parking violations is in line with comparable cities in the United States and at amounts that encourage compliance with regulations.

The Circuit Court and the City of Portland advise the public to take a moment after parking to read the signs, pay at the meter, display their parking receipts and permits properly, and ensure their vehicle is legally parked and has front and rear license plates attached. The Circuit Court maintains discretion in adjusting fine amounts for individual violations.
