Two women from Portland got lost in snowy conditions.
Saturday afternoon, 36-year-old Elizabeth Flanagan 44-year-old Sue Giordano were hiking to Nesmith Point when a storm moved in. Snow covered the trail and their tracks in the snow.
One of the women used their cell phone to call her husband for help. He called 911 and a sheriff's deputy called the women.
They have hiking experienced and they were dressed for the conditions.
At 6:50 p.m., search and rescue teams started hiking toward Nesmith Point which is at an elevation of 3,800 feet.
The hikers remained at their location. Search and rescue teams located them around 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
They hiked down together and arrived at the command post at 3:45 a.m.
The hikers were in good condition.
