Robert Myers initially told police that he fell asleep with his son and he was unresponsive when he awoke.
On Wednesday January 2 at approximately 11:55 p.m., Beaverton Police Officers were called to the King's Court Apartments on SW Estuary Drive on a report of a child not breathing.
When officers arrived, they contacted the parents of the child; 26-year-old Robert Myers and 27-year-old Stephanie Baker both from Beaverton.
The child was identified as Aden Russ Myers, seven weeks old. Responding officers were initially told by Robert Myers that he had accidentally fallen asleep on the sofa next to the victim.
When he awoke, he said he had found the child unresponsive and called 911.
Aden Myers was transported by ambulance to the hospital and was placed on life support because he could not breathe on his own. The infant was taken off of life support Thursday night.
Detectives responded to the hospital and conducted interviews with both Myers and Baker. Further investigation led detectives to re-interview Myers.
During the interview, statements were made by Myers that led detectives to arrest him for the murder of his child.
Myers was transported to the Washington County Jail and will be charged with Murder.
