How to tell the Army Corps of Engineers what you think

The Bonneville Power Administration needs more transmission lines in Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon.  Their plan is run a 79 mile long transmission line from Castle Rock to Troutdale.  the Army Corps of Engineers wants your opinion on the plan.

The 500 k-v line would run through Cowlitz and Clark counties, away from residential areas...but..."B.P.A..'s proposing to fill about 21 acres of wetlands and clear trees and shrubs from about 87 acres of wetlands."

Patricia Graesser - Corps of Engineers - says other issues they want public comment on..."they (BPA) would be needing to make some permanent stream crossings and some temporary stream crossings during construction."

The project will require a series of permits - and the okay from agencies concerned about fish and wildlife.

The plan will also be the subject of a series of B.P.A.-sponsored meetings:  January 10, 5 pm at Liberty Middle School in Camas, January 23 Battle grond, February 2 Longview, February 4 Castle Rock and February 6 Vancouver.
