Armored car robbed in NE Portland

The employee servicing an ATM was robbed of the cash.

Friday around 6:30 a.m., an armored car employee was delivering cash to an ATM at the Onpoint Credit Union at 1720 Northeast 9th Avenue when she was robbed.

The armored car employee who told police that as she was walking from the armored car to the ATM a man came out of nowhere and grabbed two cases of money and ran northbound on 9th Avenue.

The cases are described as 18" x 8" hard black plastic cases, similar to shoe boxes. The amount of money in each box is not being disclosed at this time.

The suspect is described as an unknown male, early to mid-20s, 6' tall, thin build, dark-colored jacket with a sports team logo and a hood up, wearing white gloves.

The victim was not hurt in this robbery and no weapons were used.
