Man attacked with machete in Old Town

A man was under the west end of the Burnside Bridge Tuesday night when he was hit with a machete.

Portland Police are investigating an attack Tuesday night under the west end of the Burnside Bridge.

Police were called at 8:55 p.m. when a man was attacked by another man with a machete. He suffered injuries to his head. The man was hospitalized and is expected to recover from his injuries. He wasn't cooperating with police.

The suspect is described as a white or Native American man, in his 20s, 5'4" tall, medium build, wearing a gray hoody and blue jeans.

The suspect was last seen northbound on foot along Northwest 1st Avenue. He wasn't caught.
