A strong winter storm is causing damage throughout Oregon and Washington.

Highway 26 was closed for a ten mile stretch near the intersection with U.S. 101 because of fallen trees.

A wind gust of 106 mph was reported on Naselle Ridge in SW Washington near the Coast.

More than 5 inches of rain fell in the last day at a weather station along the Nehalem River.

U.S. 101 is restricted to only high profile vehicles south of Seaside because of high water, and the Astoria Megler Bridge was closed because of a chip truck that had rolled over.

Pacific Power reported outages to 20,000 customers on the Northern Oregon Coast.

The Storm is expected to move into the area Monday and will begin to subside Tuesday.
