I am a native Oregonian, born in The Dalles but lived most of my early years in Portland. I graduated from Roosevelt High School and earned my B.S. degree from Portland State. My parents owned a neighborhood drug store in North Portland where my sister and brother and I all worked. Like Bruce and John, I am an alumnus of 62 KGW, back in its heyday, and actually worked with John. I eventually moved to Los Angeles and had a 20+ year radio and television career there. In 2001 I totally switched gears and pursued my hobby as a career and became a professional landscape designer; I even won HGTVs Landscapers Challenge. In 2005 I moved back home to Portland to be near my family. I am so proud to call Portland's K103 my radio home. Working with Bruce and John is a blast!

MUSIC FOR THE HEART works to eliminate cardiovascular disease by supporting scientific research. We raise money by producing world-class musical concerts and we educate the public through our Focus on Science events. We recognize that music is an efficient, effective means for engaging people and stimulating thought and, as such, a sustainable basis for creating positive impact. We have donated over $100,000 to the OHSU Heart Research Center since inception in 2005.

FACTS ABOUT HEART DISEASE
A woman's diet and her muscle mass during pregnancy play a critical role in risk of heart disease in her offspring during adult life.

Cardiovascular disease causes more loss of life than the seven other leading causes of death COMBINED.

A woman's risk of dying from cardiovascular disease is 5 times greater than dying from breast cancer.

Cardiovascular disease is the cause of death in 50% of deaths in the US.

I recently picked out my new Sleeper Sofa and Ottoman at the La-Z-Boy Gallery at Tanasbourne. I'm having it custom-made because I wanted the "memory foam" bed for my guests...it's so cushy and comfy. Sales-pro, Margit, helped me with everything, from picking out the sofa, to picking out the fabric. I can't wait to get it!
