Haley Etnier is a Behavior Coach for the Gresham-Barlow School District. This is what her nominator, Stephanie Pulioff, had to say about Haley: Hayley is the Behavior Coach at the Structured Skills Center (SSC). Her duties and responsibilities are varied and include day to day coaching with staff and social skills trainings with students K-12, facilitation of Individual Education Plans, and facilitating debrief meetings with families and teams. She is always the district-wide Behavior Coach. She participates is summit planning, Oregon Intervention System trainer. Hayley is a born organizer; this year she has facilitated yoga and music that’s being provided for the students. She organized a canned food drive and successfully established the SSC with an “Adopt-a-Road” program. She also works with the high schools to develop opportunities for students in neighboring schools. She coaches staff and students through collaborative problem solving exercises, she advocates for both staff and students. She is always in the classroom or interacting with kids. She is always the first responder and is quick to take advantage of situations that lead to better relationships with students when they are in crisis. Hayley is “Ms. Positive” according to her boss. She says this is the hardest job she has ever done but she doesn't want to do anything else. Kids seek her out all the time, which indicates she is trusted among her students. Hayley endures crisis on any given day working with children with behavioral concerns but she demonstrates the utmost respect for her students and is always cool and collective in a crisis situation. I have known Hayley my entire life and I can't imagine anyone working harder on a day to day basis in a challenging environment than her. I have the utmost respect for her and what she does to impact the lives of her students on a daily basis. Congratulations Haley Etnier from K103! |
