Stacey & Mike's Happy News: Toddlers + Seniors = All Heaven Breaks Lose

The first intergenerational care village, a home to both older people and young children living and learning together, recently celebrated its official opening.

Belong is a not-for-profit care operator, specializing in dementia care where stimulation, learning and fun are activities that are known to delay the progression of dementia, and what better way to add these critical elements of life to a daily regimen than to let a flock of preschoolers do it?

Breaking the mold of more ‘traditional’ care environments, the state-of-the-art village has six family-sized 24-hour care households, 23 independent living apartments, as well as the children’s nursery.

There is a cafe, hair salon, and exercise studio. The site is open to the public, creating a bustling environment for residents and the community.
