A Michigan woman’s Mother’s Day was extra special this year because she graduated from college and had a baby, almost on the same day.
Kelsey Hudie wanted her diploma so badly that she attended her graduation ceremony while in the early stages of labor. Kelsey was 38 weeks pregnant and dilated when she showed up to the event on Saturday.
Kelsey, who studied liberal arts and has plans to become a teacher, got the news that she was on her way to giving birth four days prior and once faculty at the community college learned of the situation, they allowed Hudie to sit on stage and called her name earlier in the program than initially planned and after receiving her diploma, she went straight to the hospital.
She has since given birth to her baby girl Nyla.
