A Southwest Airlines gate agent honored a World War II veteran by leading a rendition of 'God Bless America' at California's Oakland International Airport on April 8. As they were waiting to board a flight from Oakland to Phoenix.
A Southwest employee notified passengers that a "special VIP" named Anthony was going to be on the plane. "He announced that our VIP person is 100 years old, and fought in WWII. An employee then put his arm around Anthony and said, 'Let's sing 'God Bless America' for our VIP guest'!
More than a few of the fellow passengers said that Anthony was clearly moved by the spontaneous gesture.
